We went back to Mathare to do a prayer ministry--we gathered to have worship and then went into the community, asking people if they wanted to be prayed over. One of the most amazing parts of the day was watching the youth who serve at the Mathare Worship Centre go out into Mathare to talk and pray over people. These guys actually grew up in Mathare and they are to that community what Moses was to the Israelites.
The girl I'm with is named Lucy, and I loved watching her during our ministry today. She has a heart for the people in Mathare in a way that I never will, because they are truly her people and her convictions and hopes and dreams she has for them are so pure and God-given.
This is one of those humbling moments of remembering that this really isn't our work--we just have the honor of partnering and with others and coming alongside God in what He is doing in the kingdom of heaven.
